Since I discovered that I do not live far away from a piece by the Land Art artist Robert Smithson, I’ve been reading about him and his ideas. I found out that we both share the interest in entropy and entropic disintegration.
Robert Smithson Land Art projects are manifestations of his “entropic” approach to postindustrial landscapes. And I guess it’s the same fascination that made me do this recording.
It’s one of the last recordings I did before I moved to the country side. Made during the construction works for a highway through what was a beautiful old forest. The sound of nature goes together with the cacophony of noise created by these huge machines.
