Jarra’s artistic exploration started with painting abstract artworks in which he aimed to minimise his part as a painter. The technical approach, craftsmanship and concentration devoted to this process defines the artwork in its final state. Jarra’s approach to making sound developed in a similar way. Starting with field recordings in the late 90’s he focussed on minimising his intervention as a recorder in a like manner.
Sama’ 1 and Sama’ 2 were released on cd by Dale Lloyd’s and/OAR in 2002, and again in 2019.
